Making Memory Better
Beginning from small incidents like forgetting the birthday of your good friend, to even family members or your favorite restaurant or even where you place your keys at home. We are, at time, suffer from occasional forgetfulness and it affects our life in some way. Especially so when we grow older, we tend to forget big and small things in our life. Hence it is imperative that we find ways to improve our memory. Let’s look at some of the ways.
1) Make use of visual and sounds
Well it depends on what kind of learner we are, we could use sounds and visuals to help us better remember things. For instance, when we need to remember our task list, one of the ways is to stare and it and remembers how the list looks like exactly in our mind. Others would need to hear the full list audibly before being able to remember it thoroughly. To find out which is the way that works for you? You have to examine careful your whole study time and determine which the better way to help remember things is.
2) Make use of associations
Our brain needs help in remembering things. Associating information with things we are familiar with helps us improve in the memory. One such method is Mnemonics which is memorizing a set of words using the first letter and form a sentence. This association helps in memorizing the first letter of the word in our brain.
3) Make use of Visualization
You have probably by now observes people who has photography memory. Well these individuals essentially memorize the picture of the words in the group and commit them into the mind. For example, if he is required to memorize the entire grocery list, he will look at the list and visualize it as a whole instead of individual items. This help in storing the information in the brain.
4) Diet
Your diet will affect your ability to memorize things tremendously. Nutritious food helps the brain to function better and faster, so do add in brain foods like milk, tofu and fish in your daily diet.
